What this website collects

This page is about lanternbook.org, the website for grown-ups. Last updated October 28, 2026.

Children

Lantern collects nothing from children. Nothing a child says or selects in Lantern is stored, sent, or shown to anyone. This website is for parents, teachers and program leaders, not for kids.

When you sign up

• Waitlist: your email address.
• Design partner application: your name, email, school or organization, its type, and what you tell us about the kids you work with. Please don't include children's names.

We use this only to contact you about Lantern. We keep it in the tool we use to manage email and contacts, we never sell it, and we'll delete it if you ask at hello@lanternbook.org.

So we know how people find us, the site also remembers in your browser which website or campaign link first brought you here, and sends that along with your sign-up.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies, to count visits, see which pages are read, and learn whether a sign-up form was sent. We never send your email address or anything you type to Google Analytics. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services, or turn it off with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
