Design partners: schools and nonprofits

Help us build a book that gets kids reading, and then gets out of the way.

We're looking for a small number of classrooms and community programs to use Lantern with real families and tell us, honestly, what works.

Schools

You teach kids under 12, some of them have decided they're "bad readers", and you'd like them opening books at home without one more dashboard to watch.

Nonprofits

You run a literacy, after-school, library or family program. Your families are careful about what apps know about their kids. With Lantern the answer is: nothing.

What a pilot looks like

  1. 01

    A first call

We learn about your kids and your program, and walk you through one night of Lantern.

  2. 02

    Families start

A small group of your families use it at home. No accounts for children, ever.

  3. 03

    We listen to grown-ups

Short check-ins with you and with parents who choose to talk. That's where everything we learn comes from.

  4. 04

    You shape what ships

Your feedback decides the next stories and quests.

What we collect about the children

Nothing.

Nothing a child says or selects is stored, transmitted, or shown to anyone, including you and including us. There's no report to file and no data to protect, because there's no data.

What we learn in a pilot comes only from conversations with the adults who choose to have them.

Tell us a little about your kids and your program, and we'll reply personally.
